PUSHKIN, half day tour

Located at a distance of 27 km from the city, Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo), a former country residence of the Russian emperors, is a fascinating monument of the world’s architectural and gardening art of the 17th-19th centuries. Magnificent palaces and grand monuments, intimate pavilions and park sculptures settle nicely in the vastness of three parks around the place. The compositional centre of the ensemble is Catherine’s Palace and gardens. Catherine’s Palace houses a famous reconstructed Amber room. The collection of Tsarskoye Selo today numbers 20.000 items.

Pavlovsk, a former summer palace and gardens of the Russian Emperor Paul I and his family, lies just 30 km away from St. Petersburg and is 15 min drive from Tsarskoye Selo. The landscape park covers the area of 600 ha. The formation of the collection of the Palace was closely connected with the trip of its owners over Europe in 1781-1782. ZELENOGRADSK and the CURONIAN SPIT, a day tour

The extraordinary location and beauty of the Curonian Spit, extending for 100 kilometres and dividing the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon, is a place worth spending more than a day. Designated as a national park on both sides of the border (Russian/Lithuanian), the Spit is home to a unique range of wildlife. On the Russian side the major attraction is the Ornithological Centre at Rybachy. It studies regular migrations that bring around 100.000 birds here each spring and autumn. At Lesnoe is a Museum of the History of the Spit. Zelenogradsk is a quiet 19th century village characterised by wooden architecture and famous for medical treatment facilities.
Optional visit to Nida on the Lithuanian side and further to Klaipņda is possible, too.

SVETLOGORSK, half day tour

We recommend a visit to this seaside resort, situated on the Baltic coast 30 km from Kaliningrad. The wealth and taste of the era remains in the extraordinary variety of buildings, including its famous Water Tower. A German sculptor Hermann Brachert lived in the town before the war and his works can be traced throughout the town. The natural beauty of the area remains unspoiled - you can enjoy the sand dunes, pine woods, medical mud baths and mineral waters. During the summer period a full range of cultural activities is offered, including organ music concerts in the former Catholic Church.
